This is a hard to find tin that was used in The Shawshank Redemption. Andy tells Red that if he ever gets out, there is something buried under a rock pile at the base of an oak tree. This is what was buried, and it contained money + a letter with instructions on how to find Andy in Mexico. While this wasn't the actual prop used on set, it is 100% the exact same item used for the real prop. These have become very sought after and increasingly difficult to find.
These tins are antiques, so they will always have a few small scuffs, aging, dings and blemishes. The lids will close on the tins, but it always requires a bit of effort. I have held well over 100 of these tins in my hands and they all have these characteristics in one form or another.
This tin has a few dings in it and is showing its age as an 80+ year old antique. The lid opens and closes but it does take a bit of fiddling to do it. I have priced this tin lower than my other listings to reflect the added wear. Please review photos before purchasing. If you have any questions please send me a DM. Thanks!
